Mobility 54 Investment SAS is a corporate venture capital based on a joint venture between Toyota Tsusho Corporation (Listed in Tokyo / the Toyota Group) at 70% and CFAO (A French trading house specialized in Africa / the subsidiary of Toyota Tsusho) at 30%. It is the group’s investment arm for new technologies and services in mobility sectors on the African continent.

Our purpose is to solve the challenges of the continent’s industrial transformation in the mobility sector by investing in innovative start-ups and nurturing synergies with our group’s traditional activities.

Job description

As we are hiring for potential group leaders, we aim to hire an exceptional and ambitious individual committed for the long run.

As a Venture Capital Associate in Mobility 54 team, you will oversee the entire investment process, from sourcing to closing. Afterwards, you will support and monitor these companies to create synergies. In your daily job, you will:

• Network and meet many entrepreneurs and key actors in the start-up ecosystems.

• Conduct market analysis and contribute to the deal-making process including due diligence (Business & strategies, Financial & legal, …), investment term negotiations and closing process (audits coordination, legal paperwork, …).

• Advocate internally for the deals you are working on and prepare documents for internal validations and monthly investment committees.

• Work closely with the founders (incl. sitting at the board) to monitor the company’s activity and support strategic decisions, whether on business matters or financial matters, including fundraising, M&A operations; and

• Orchestrate discussions between entrepreneurs and business divisions of the group to generate win-win synergies.

Profile

• 0 - 3 years of professional experience.

• Previous experience in VC/PE fund, consulting or equivalent professional firm, high growth start-up, or large tech companies.

• A particular commitment to Africa/Mobility.

• Knowledge or strong interest in local markets and tech ecosystems.
